Tom Gantert started in the newspaper business in 1983 when he was hired as a part-time reporter at the Jackson Citizen Patriot. He worked at the Lansing State Journal, Ann Arbor News and USA Today during his 26 year newspaper career. He is currently the managing editor of Michigan Capitol Confidential, the news site of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. Tom Gantert has lived in the Jackson area most of his life. He was born in Jackson and currently resides in Blackman Township. During the spring, summer and fall you can catch Gantert biking on the Falling Waters Trail.
